Javascript in your browser:
1. City information database
The city information database can be used to find (and locate on map)
objects (points of interest, institutions or companies) within the city.
The database is divided into many categories and subcategories (1a) and
organized into expandable/collapsable menus. Click on selected menu item
to see all objects within category. The objects are presented in
separate window on the right side of map (1a). Choose an object from the
list to see its localization on the map and additional information about
object (description, address, contact data). All object within category
are represented on map with same symbol.
2. Map toolbar
# [Minus] - zoom out (step 100%).
# [Plus] - zoom in (step 100%).
# [Map] - original view (max. zoom out)
# [Link generator] - allow to generate a URL-encoded unique hyperlink to
any part of the map.
# [Add point of interest] - allow to add a new point of interest (
object, institution, company) to the map
# [Print] - print out actual (visible) part of the map.
3. Street search
This dropdown list box contain all streets in the town. To locate a
street on the map simply click its name on the list. The street will be
shown in the centre of the map. To save time you can tab to the field
and type the first letter or numbers of the desired selection from the
drop down list, instead of scrolling through the list.
4. Hyperlink generator
With this tool you can generate a URL-encoded unique hyperlink to
currently viewed part of the map. Once generated URL can be used on your
website or send by e-mail to other people. By clicking generated
hyperlink everyone will be redirected to apriopriate segment of the map.
5. How to submit a new point of interest to the database
Everybody can submit a new point of interest to Town Information
database. Once added, point of interest is visible on map. It is great
opportunity to promote companies and their offer among town residents
and visitors. To submit new object take following steps:
- first, find appropriate place on map: scale the map and adjust
position of viewfinder (red arrow) to match exact location of proposed
point
- then, fill in application form. Please be accurate in filling in
application forms. Following the instructions carefully will ensure
adding your object to database. You can cancel your entry at all times
by clicking Cancel. Your entry will be published after website
administrator approval
How to enable JavaScript in web
browser?
Internet Explorer (6.0)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x and 6.x
- Click Tools in the top toolbar menu
- Select Internet Options.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Custom Level in Security Level for this Zone.
- Scroll down to Scripting, near the bottom of the list.
- Under Active Scripting, choose Enable.
- Click OK to leave Security Settings.
- Click OK to leave Internet Options.
Mozilla Firefox (1.0,1.5,2.0)
- Select Options from the Tools menu.
- Click the Content tab (indicated with a little image of the globe).
- Check the box next to Enable JavaScript. Click the OK button.
Apple Safari (1.0)
- Select Safari from the menu bar and click on Preferences....
- Click on the Security icon.
- Click on checkbox next to Enable JavaScript.
- Close that window.
- Close this window and Click the Reload button in the browser's row
of icons in the EGXpress window.
Opera (8.x, 9.x)
- From the browsers File menu select Preferences or press Alt+P
- Select Multimedia from the list on the left
- Check the box labeled Enable JavaScript
- Push OK
- Reload the current page
